David Thompson, M.D. - Colon/Rectal

David Thompson attended Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada for his undergraduate studies as well as for his M.D. After an internship at Dalhousie he went on to complete his residency in anesthesia and general surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas, where he was awarded a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery. His honors include membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Thompson is licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

Dr. Thompson is currently a clinical associate professor of surgery at the University of Texas Medical School, and has also served as an instructor and an assistant professor of surgery. His hospital appointments include Diagnostic Center Hospital, Hermann Hospital, Houston Northwest Medical Center, Rosewood Hospital, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Memorial Southeast Hospital, Memorial Southwest Hospital, The Methodist Hospital and Park Plaza Hospital. He also serves as a staff physician at the Colon and Rectal Clinic in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Thompson’s professional memberships include the Harris County Medical Society, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Texas Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Houston Surgical Society.
